Copying color from one region to another

You can copy a color used to paint one region and apply it to another, using the Copy Paint tool. You might want to do this when painting several regions that share the same color with already painted regions, or when dragging colors through from the previous drawing.

To do this:

  1. Select the Copy Paint tool from the toolkit:
For a shortcut, if you already have the Fill Paint tool selected, hold down the Shift key to temporarily select the Copy Paint tool.
  1. Click in the region containing the color you want to copy, and drag to the region you want to paint.
  1. Release the mouse button to paint the region with the copied color.
  1. If you are holding down the Shift key, release it to return to the Fill Paint tool.

The Copy Paint tool allows you to pick up and put down color. In order to pick up color with the Copy Paint tool, you don't need to go the palette; instead, you simply click on the region that contains the color you want to copy, and drag from that region into the region you want to paint. When you release the mouse button, the region is painted with the color you copied.
